On Thursday 10th March 2022, the Action for Children and Families of Prisoners Network joined together for the fifth network meeting. The primary focus of the meeting was for individual members to provide an update on the work they have been carrying out on behalf of children and families since the last meeting in September 2021 (the December 2021 meeting was rescheduled).

Also at this meeting, the Network welcomed two representatives from Dillon’s Cross Project in Cork who will hopefully be joining the Network meetings going forward into the future. The Dillon’s Cross Project is an initiative run by the Education Unit at Cork Prison for female relatives of people in prison or people with previous experience of prison. The aim of the project is to support women to obtain their full QQI in General Learning Level 3 to promote the importance of education amongst families with a family member in prison.

The Network will meet again in June 2022.
